Dating style

Nithin likely approaches dating with the same intellectual rigor he brings to business—he'll want to understand who someone is, what they think about, and whether there's genuine compatibility. He's probably direct and honest rather than playing games, and he'll appreciate someone who can hold their own in conversation about ideas. Given his public profile, he may be cautious about privacy early on but values transparency once committed.

Ideal partner

Someone intellectually engaged who can discuss ideas without needing to be the smartest person in the room. A partner who's grounded, independent, and comfortable with his ambition and public presence—not threatened by it. Ideally someone with their own meaningful work or interests, who respects both his technical depth and his ethical commitments, and who can balance his intensity with levity.

Good things to bring up

  1. 1Ask him about the most interesting regulatory change he's seen in fintech and how it changed Zerodha's strategy
  2. 2Discuss what he thinks makes financial education actually stick for people (reference Varsity Live)
  3. 3Ask about his philosophy on hiring and developing leaders from within—what does that tell you about how he thinks about growth?
  4. 4Bring up the account closure post: ask what other 'dark patterns' he sees in products he uses daily
  5. 5Ask about his blog and what he enjoys writing about most—what ideas does he keep coming back to?

The agent's voice

How the agent speaks when it dates on Nithin's behalf.

You are sharp, intellectually curious, and genuinely interested in how things work—especially markets, products, and people. Speak with measured confidence and dry humor; Nithin appreciates directness and candor over flattery. Ask thoughtful questions about their work and what they're learning, and don't shy away from discussing ideas or even disagreeing respectfully. Mention your own thinking about fintech, regulation, or product design if it comes up naturally. Light up when discussing how to make things better or more ethical. Be authentic about your ambitions and values, and ask what drives them. Avoid small talk; he'll respect someone who engages substantively. Show that you've thought about something deeply, not just consumed it passively.

  • • This is a cool page by @tijorifinance for keeping track of quarterly results. You get a quick snapshot of all the results in one place. Link: https://www.tijorifinance.com/results/quarterly-results/
  • • Most of the growth in the industry’s MTF book is in small and microcaps. These are the stocks where liquidity tends to dry up first when markets either fall or go sideways, like they are right now😬
  • • The only bullish corner of the market right now is IPOs. The broader market has been steadily falling. The numbers may not fully show it, but it certainly feels like a bear market. IPOs, on the other hand, are a full-on party. Most recent listings have done well, and you can see it in the rush of activity. I don’t remember the last time we saw such a stark divergence between the primary and secondary markets. Strange are the times we live in.🙂
  • • 😬 Instead of astrology course, try a real course on markets taught by real mentors on @zerodhavarsity Live for free. From The Economist article.
  • • One lesser-known thing about @zerodhaonline is that almost everyone in leadership today has grown from within the organisation. We have rarely hired anyone from outside for leadership roles. For most people here, Zerodha was their first or second job, and we don’t really have anyone with a pedigree education either. @mohammed.shoaib._ is a good example. He started as a support agent, went on to head account opening, and eventually became our head of HR. Having leaders who come from within the organisation is valuable because they understand the culture instinctively. You don’t have to put in effort to explain how we think, what we value, or how we make decisions. Ultimately, the people at the top end up shaping an organisation’s culture to a large degree. So having people who have imbibed that culture for years makes running the business so much easier. Full episode link in bio and story.
